A large-scale international project brings together artists from several countries, promoting the authenticity of folklore
and the values that unite European peoples.
The “Jose Antonio Viñas” caravan is emerging, at the beginning of May, as an important landmark of European intercultural dialogue, bringing together artists from several countries in a common endeavor dedicated to traditional values.
The event proposes an authentic meeting of international folklore, in which cultural diversity becomes a bond and a source of rapprochement between peoples. Through music, costume and artistic expression, the participants offer the public a vivid image of the identity and spiritual wealth specific to each nation.
In this context, the Republic of Moldova becomes the host of a moment of cultural resonance, in which tradition gains a universal voice, and the stage is transformed into a space of unity through art. An important role in organizing and holding the event belongs to the artist Silvia Zagoreanu, a prominent figure in the cultural life of the Republic of Moldova, a performer of folk music and romances, a cultural manager and a producer of radio programs.
Holder of the honorary title “Master in Art”, Silvia Zagoreanu has distinguished herself over time through sustained activity in the field of preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage, holding leadership positions within national cultural institutions and contributing to the coordination of artistic activities at the national level. Currently, she is the director of the Palace of Culture in the municipality of Ungheni and a member of the World Folklore Union (IGF), actively involved in supporting and promoting authentic values.
An essential role in initiating and developing this project belongs to the president of the World Folklore Union, prof. dr. Dorel Cosma, a constant promoter of preserving authenticity, a supporter of traditional values and the affirmation of young talents, in the service of the cultural identity of peoples.
The choice of the period for the event, in the proximity of Europe Day – a symbol of unity, peace and cooperation between nations, is also particularly inspiring. This coincidence gives the event a special significance, underlining, through art and tradition, the common values that define European identity and bring communities closer together beyond any borders.
In the same spirit of promoting European values and tradition, such initiatives resonate with cultural initiatives supported over time in the diaspora, where Europe Day has been celebrated through numerous editions dedicated to unity through culture, with the participation of important representatives of Romanian artistic and cultural life.
At the same time, the joy of being, in one way or another, part of this large-scale cultural initiative represents a real honor, confirming once again the importance and value of such a project.
The “Jose Antonio Viñas” caravan thus confirms the essential role of culture in strengthening relations between communities and in promoting the European spirit.
Congratulations to the organizers and all the artists involved in this high-profile cultural project.
