MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE BUREAU OF I.G.F. HAVE COMPLETED THE ARTISTIC AGENDA FOR 2016

Friday, 18 March 2016, in Voiron – France took place the first meeting this year of the Executive Board of World Folklore Union, being present the following: I.G.F. President Prof.Dr. Dorel Cosma (Romania), President adjunct Nicolas Charlety (France) and Benito Ripoli (Italy), vice-presidents Jose Antonio Vinas (Spain), Ameen Kassem (Israel), Vladan Tesanovic (Serbia), general secretary Rosen Bogdanov (Bulgaria) general secretary adj. Zelida Charlety (France), treasurer Rene Sourisseau (France), treasurer adj. Pahone Pop (Romania), Special Adviser Franco Megna (Italy) and members of the council Zenon Kolybych (Ukraine), Birute Akelatiene (Lithuania).

The meeting began with the speech of the President of World Folklore Union, Prof.Dr. Dorel Cosma, that wished all official delegations welcome and at the same time bringing words of gratitude for the organizing Federation (France).

It has been proposed for debate among other points on the agenda, also the following cultural activities:

  • Folk Caravan 2016 to be held in Portugal and Spain on 23-26 June, registrations taking place until April 15. This year has been proposed for participation 8 countries – Romania, Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, France, Israel, Cyprus, Poland – each having the opportunity to enroll up to 3 persons.
  • I.G.F. Gold Star in 2016 – former award “Oscar” in folklore – this time will take place in Italy, in September and as a new feature, starting this year, a special prize will be given to the institutions or O.N.G that have significant contributions in the world and participates actively in promoting folklore and cultural heritage.

The first institution of its kind, targeted for 2016 is “UNESCO” – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which advocates for world peace and security through collaboration among nations in education, science and culture.

Special congratulations to President Adjunct Nicolas Charlety, Ms. Zelda Charlety – Secretary General adj. – and to entire National Folklore Federation from French for the effort to organize this large-scale event.
