In November 2013, I.G.F.’s president, prof. PhD Dorel Cosma , was welcomed in Argentina, where the National Folklore Federation was incorporated and the adhesion of the Argentinean Federation to I.G.F. was recorded. I.G.F.’s president was accompanied by Teacher Pahone Pop – an I.G.F. Board member, by Ioan Simionca – the executive president of the Romanian National Folklore Federation and by photographer artist Florin Coşoiu.
Within an official meeting in the General Villegas chief town, in the presence of mayor PhD Gilberto Alegre, of other local and national authorities and of artists and group leaders, I.G.F.’s president remitted the I.G.F. Adhesion Certificate to Mrs. Griselda Gulmineli, by which she will henceforth officially represent Argentina in the European and Extra-European Folklore Union. The President of the Argentinean National Folklore Federation, Mrs. Griselda Gulmineli, thanked everybody for the trust put in her and expressed the hope that a fruitful future collaboration will be ahead us. The Villegas mayor and authorities promised their total support to the new Federation adhered to I.G.F. Then there was an exchange of symbolical presents between the cultural delegation and the authorities. A folk show from various areas of Argentina was offered in the honour of the delegation. The visit continued by the attendance of countless traditional shows, exhibitions and galleries in Villegas, San Antonio, Tigre and Buenos Aires. The ‘I.G.F. News’ and ‘Connections’ magazines were offered and released on the occasion of these meetings. In Villegas’ Library, I.G.F.’s president and the manager of the Municipal Cultural Centre from Bistriţa, Romania, released his new book, ‘Travelling and Poetry Journal’, which speaks about the ample cultural events of I.G.F. and of Bistriţa chief town. Within the discussions, numerous cultural exchanges for the next year and the participation of the ‘Las Mackey’ group in I.G.F.’s Caravan for 2014 were established.
